Hello Everyone! I sure have missed all my wonderful blog friends.
I've been really itching to post and hang out with all of you, but Mom
has been really busy lately helping Grandpa.
Grandpa
is my buddy. He hides treats for me in his shirt pocket and I sniff
then out right away. Who does he think he's fooling? He's the best.
He doesn't try to hide his favoritism either. He'll tell everyone
"she's the best dog they got" Aww, Grandpa I sure do love you.
Since
January Grandpa has been trying to get rid of the nasty "C" sickie that
is after his ear. He had one surgery in January and the doctor didn't
get it all. He had another surgery in May and the Dr. had no intention
of getting it all so we aren't sure why he even did another surgery
because after that he sent him to a specialist in the city. This new
Dr. said he needed another surgery so last week he had another surgery
on his ear to remove the "C" sickie. We were very worried about Grandpa
because he's not a young pup anymore, but God has been listening to my
prayers and he came through it all. He still can't eat very well
because his jaw is very sore and it hurts to chew, but the good news is
his jaw bone was ok and they didn't have to remove any of it and they
were also able to save his eardrum and that's great! Mom hasn't been
able to help me with the blog because she's been driving Dad back and
forth to the city which is an all day event. She also helps him with
groceries and things. Now that things are on the mend and Grandpa is
getting better I think she'll be able to help me more.
Well,
let me just say Mom hasn't been too busy to play some tricks on the
Emma. I'm pretty sure she's trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
You
see I've been a little stubborn lately. I've been refusing to eat my
kibble. I've even spit it out at Mom and on the floor in protest of
eating nasty dry kibble. After 14 years I'm done with the stuff. Bring
on the pizza, donuts, saltines with peanut butter, chicken and
hamburgers. I've been trying to tell them since November I don't like
kibble anymore, but they keep telling me I have to eat it because it's
supposed to be supplemented with vitamins and minerals that I need to be
healthy and strong. They say I can't live on just boiled chicken. I
say Why Not? Mom and Dad were both really stressed and worried, but
they did eventually catch on that I will eat anything but that
dry nasty stuff. I think it was the night I ate and ate pizza with them
(don't worry no onions) I just got the crust. Then one night I had a
piece of donut and wanted more. I may not have been as sly and clever
as I thought because they caught on to my craftiness. Now they are
trying to find ways to get me to eat that nasty dry stuff again.
I
think I did get bamboozled because last night Mom came home with this
new shiny gold bag of pretty yummy smelling morsels. I could smell right
through the bag it kinda reminded me of our Honest Kitchen Bison treats
and I think those are pretty tasty. We were all bouncing around wanting
to see what was in that new bag. She opens it up and in her very happy
high pitched playful voice she has me do my tricks to earn these new
"treats" as she called them. I ate and ate about 3 handfuls of these
"treat" morsels and now I'm starting to think maybe they weren't really
treats after all.
Here's what she gave me under the guise of a "treat".
Friends
please be true to me. Is this a real treat? She did stuff the bag in
our treat cabinet not with our bags of kibble. Honestly, I think she's
trying to trick me.

PeeS: Don't
worry about me Mom and Dad have me scheduled for a Dr. visit and I get
at least two blood work ups a year which are scheduled about every 6
months.

Firstly glad grandpa is making a good recovery and we send him our very best wishes. As for dry kibbles , the devil food , dry cardboard masquerading as dog biscuits , bin em I say. My party trick is dropping them all over the kitchen floor. Really annoys my human and rightly so. We feel for you pal! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
So happy Grandpa finally got a good Doc that took care of him! Sending him lots of wags and smiles to help make his recovery period nicer :D
ReplyDeleteNow Emma...you know I don't eat kibble. Made my own fuss about that a couple years ago. BUTT, you cannot live off of pizza bones alone! Sounds like your Mom is very sneaky! In a VERY GOOD WAY! :D My Mom has me do tricks to get take my meds too. I think your Mom and my Mom have been talkin behind our backs :O Gotta say that new 'treat' kibble sounds like pretty good stuff! Eat up Miss Emma! I want you to stay healthy and happy! :D
Waggin at ya,
Roo
I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I hope that he can fight that nasty C. It sounds like he is having trouble with his foodables too. Maybe you are on hunger strike until he gets all better.
ReplyDeleteI say if it tastes good then it is a treat regardless of the bag it comes in. Now my Raja had to eat the medicine kibbles for a while and she did not like it one bit. No sir. She spat it out just like you and I worried she would starve. But you know what? Momma but some nommy chicken broth and tasty baby food on it and that made it softer and more like a treat and then she ate it right down.
I sure hope you are OK. I have to go for my "old dog" physical tomorrow even though I am only 7. Can you believe it?
Slobbers,
Mango
Your poor grandpa. We lost our grandpa to that nasty C sicky this year so we know how touch it is. Your gramps looks like a cool guy in the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI kind of agree with you at 14 tell the peeps to bring on the treats and the yummers and enough with the kibs. Our mom would be flipping out too. She worries so much about our ages, except Weasley as he is a Baby and Bob, since he is a young in at 5. Since Norbert will be 10 she is a bit freaked and you are our role model looking terrific as a teen and a large breed to boot!

Sorry about Grandpa having problems but glad to read that he's on the improve and Mum can get back to blogging:) Hopefully he will be hiding treats in his clothes for you for many years to come, Emma.
ReplyDeleteFrankie and Beryl eat very little kibble, they mostly get raw meat and cooked chicken mince with rice (cos Beryl won't eat it raw) I make a home made meat stock from bones to put in with the chicken mince when I cook it and that makes it extra tasty for them. Maybe your Mum can try making some home made meat stock for your kibble, Emma? Otherwise just keep hanging out for treats:)
Emma, you are quite lucky your mama spoils you so much. Be appreciative and play along--sure it's a treat. =)
ReplyDeleteEmma, you better not eat all those treats all at once.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky that you are being well looked after and with a good home too.
