We went to our annual Doggie Games event (we will post about the tons of fun we had later) and.....................................we met this sweet, cute, friendly, adorable, playful little girl.
I'm guessing you have already guessed our dilema. Yep, we are chewing over the idea of adopting her.
We started our day with the pure joy and excitement of having waited 365 days for our turn to play dog games again. We had no thoughts on our minds of adopting or looking at any adoptable dogs. Then this sly, sneaky, clever brindle baby pranced across our path. The mom saw her and poked Dad and said Awww, look at that. The mom stopped the lady walking her and commented on how cute her dog was. Yep, it was all over after the lady said Oh Yeah! She's up for adoption.
We went about our games playing and having a great time. Then the mom saw her again and decided to go say hello and pet her. Can you believe it I had to sit there and watch my Mom be all lovey, petting, praising, cooing over this strange dog. Who is she anyway to get all that attention?
I whined, I cried, I mumbled and can you believe Mom kept sitting their playing with this strange dog as if I wasn't even there. She finally looks my way only to say what do you think Bella? Um, I think you need to get back over her to us. You do remember us right? We are after all the dogs you brought to play and have fun with.
Then I have an opportunity to meet this dog. I sniffed, and sniffed and checked her out. I have to say I don't know what all the fuss is about. She's a plain ole dog.
The question is do we want to be a 3 dog family again. It has been nice to have one person per dog for our walkies. If we have 3 then one person will have 2 doggies to walk. It will be 3x the heartworm meds, food, medical bills, exercise, playing, attention.
Honestly I'm not sure I want to share my Mom with anyone else. I've been told this other gal loves to sit and cuddle on laps. What lap do you think she will want to sit on? Mom says Dad needs a dog. I've seen how this goes. Dog comes in, dog favors Mom, I've got to share her.
On the other paw I would have someone else to play with and since she's only a year old she'll have tons more energy and desire to play with me than Sweet Pea. Pea tends to fizzle out before I'm done playing. Then again sometimes she asks to play and I ignore her ;) When she does play we can really rock the furniture. Yep, furniture makes great spring boards.
I guess only Mom and Dad know how this story will end. From what I've been hearing I don't think they are too sure yet. Will there be a new chapter? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
