House Guest.....??

I'm still here.  I haven't been able to post because Mom and Dad have been busy with their work and taking care of us and now we have a new house guest.  When I have some more time online I must tell all about Dog!Games!Play! it's a wonderful event we went to a couple weekends ago.  We had the most fun!  Back to my news...we have a new house guest.  Mom and Dad were in their workout room running on the noisy, whirling, sidewalk looking machine where they run and run and go absolutely nowhere and lifting heavy metal bars when Bella started barking.  When they came out to see what all the fuss was this was here.

Sweet Pea aka: Super T, Sweet Tea (notice the white T on her chest)

Her Dad said he couldn't keep her right now because his lease says NO pets and his landlord caught her there.  The mean landlord man told him either the dog goes or he goes.  Well, that's how we now have another dog in my castle.  She sure is odd.  She doesn't get on the couch or the bed.  She doesn't know what a marshmallow is or hot dogs or hamburgers or funny noises that Dad likes to  make when we play or lots of other things.  She just mopes around and acts all sad.  She doesn't even like the chirping noise my yellow chickie makes or the oink the pig makes or the moo the cow makes or the squeak the other toys make.  She picks them up very, very carefully and takes them to her bed that she brought with her.  I think she thinks they are her babies.  She doesn't want them to get hurt.  You should see all the stuff she brought for her visit.  She brought a hard sided kennel, bags and bags and bags of toys, a giant super size bag of dog food, canned food, two soft pillow beds and a giant stuffed doggie pillow/bed, shampoos, several kinds of doggie treats.  Hmmmmm, I wonder why she needs so much stuff for a visit.  I wonder how long she plans on staying with us.

Where am I?

Bella, Sweet Pea, Emma
Well, no one ever said I was going to have to share my couch.  Really, how am I supposed to stretch out and take a nap?

Mom and Dad said we must be nice and share our couch and bed and toys with her because she has never been allowed to enjoy such nice things as a soft comfy couch or bed.  They said she's never ever been on a walk or even to the Dr.  I remember what it was like to not have soft things to lay on or toys to play with or people to  take me for walks (or even feed  me but that's another story for another time).  I will share my things with her.  I will be happy to show her how to live the life of luxury as a royal doggie.  As Queen of this castle it's my duty.

I think we have the couch arrangements all worked out.  This seems to be a fair solution.

Bella has been trying and trying to play with her but she just isn't interested in playing with us and she wants to stay in her kennel a lot.  Mom and Dad said we just need to be patient because she doesn't understand what has happened.  I understand she is in a new home with people and doggies she hasn't seen in a long time.  We are giving her lots of love and praise.  When she is out Mom and Dad sit on the floor with her and she loves to snuggle up and be loved on.

Well, I think she has finally come out of her shell.  I was minding my own business (even though Mom doesn't believe me) and look what she did...

a play bow.... o.k. lets go.  Unfortunately our play was interrupted and cut short when we run into the end table and knocked an empty cup off and almost sent the lamp crashing to the floor.  What did they expect would happen when you put three large doggies in a tiny house?  Since this we have all been romping and playing and zooming through the house.  As much as one can zoom in a teeny tiny house.  They keep telling us me are moving and we are getting a larger house with lots of land for us to run and play.  I wonder when it's going to happen.  Come on guys it's been 2 years already....where's the new Emma castle?

Last Saturday we took Super T on her very first walk.  Mom took Bella and I and Dad took Super T.  Wow, does she like to pull.  Dad was very patient and they did some penalty yard work and be a tree and she seems to be getting the hang of it.  We took her and showed her our donkey and goat friends and she thought they were pretty neat.  Then we took her on a car ride out of town to another park and she didn't know that doggies could do such things.  We even went through the drive thu and got burgers and she had never done that before either.

Yesterday and today we went for more walks.  We introduced her to surprise Saturdays.   That's when  Mom comes home from work and surprises Daddy and us with something.  Today she picked up a super huge breaded tenderloin for Dad.  It was so big the bun looked like a tiny dot.  Then she picked up hamburgers for each of us. Dad told her to just order the patties plain and no bun since the bun just gets thrown away.  Yeah she said they had trouble understanding what she wanted. Then after our surprise yummies digested we all went for a walk.  Wow, was it hot and humid today.  They say it will be 90 - 92 degrees tomorrow.  Since I'm a senior Great Dane and Super T isn't used to exercise Mom and Dad said we may stay inside tomorrow and go out on a cooler day.

As you can see we have been very busy the past week and a half introducing our new friend Super T to our family and taking her out and about to do new things.  It's a lot of fun having a new friend to play with, snuggle with, walk with, ride with, and bark with.  I think I love her !

I am pretty sure Bella loves her too.  They have become close friends.  More than that...we have a new sister.

Sweet Dreams
