Happy Happy Pea Day ! !
It's my birthday. Oh, boy !
Mom and Dad said today is Pea Day. I wondered self what is Pea Day? Let me tell you it's a day when you get fresh baked cookies, toys, lots of attention (even more than usual), and special spa treatments. It's a dream come true. I had no idea life could be so blissful.
As soon as I woke up everyone was telling me Happy Pea Day. Today is Pea Day. Yeah, Pea Day. I realized it must be something special for me. Mom was in the kitchen saying she was making Pea cookies. Then I heard her say that she didn't have all the ingredients for any one recipe she wanted to make. She was going to make some Spots but didn't have any carob chips. Then she was going to make Peanut Mutter Nibbles and didn't have any honey. So off to the store she went..just for little o me. Here I am watching in aweeee as she prepares my cookies.
what's that? are those for me?
they are for me !
What do you think......should I try one?
These are Peanut Mutter Nibbles from "Cooking the Three Dog Bakery Way" page 95
.
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 cup honey
1/4 cup unsalted peanut butter
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Stir together the flour and baking powder in a bowl and set aside. Cream together the oil, honey, peanut butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring to incorporate. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir to form a smooth dough. Drop the dough by the rounded teaspoonful, 1 1/2 inches apart, on 2 ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12 - 14 minutes, or until light golden. Cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or wrap well and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw before serving.
While the last batch of cookies were cooling I got another surprise Dad was handing me these things wrapped in paper. What am I supposed to do with these? Bella must have known exactly what to do because she kept trying to help me and Mom and Dad kept telling her to let me open my own gifts. It's Pea Day.
Is this a cookie? Hmmmmm.
Hey, where's ours?
Wow Eeee. I got a peanut butter cookie and 2 stuffies. The green one is crinkly, sqeaky and has a bungee neck. The other is a little brown monkey in a scarf and night cap. This is way cool. I love Pea Day. Mom and Dad keep asking me how old I am and I don't know. My previous peoples didn't know exactly. They said my birthday is either June or July and I am 5 or 6. Dad said I can choose either 6 or 7. It really doesn't matter to me after all it's just a number.
Don't worry Bell and Emma weren't forgotten. After I unwrapped all my presents they each got a new toy too.
Bella decided her little pajama dog looked better without the scarf and maybe without the hat too.
After all our festivities we all received some wonderful spa treatments. Since the weather was so nice Mom filled up a tub full of water outside and one by one each went out for our Papaya Mango bubbly bath and soft towel massage. Since we were in a "delicate" ummm state no pictures were taken :) That Emma would have used up all the towels if Mom and Dad would have let her. She just loves the rub down part and if you hold the towel out like for a bull she walks right into it and awaits the rubbing. She arches her back up so much her back feets almost come up off the ground. Funny :)
Here is our first attempt at a video (the dance videos were courtesy of Dad). It's a short clip of my Pea Day celebration. We would like to say thank you ever so much to Honey and Hsin-Yi for the info they provided Mom in video editing.

Hey Mango,
ReplyDeleteThat's right your brother is Pea too. Why do you call him Pee? Is he your little brother? Here they call me everything. We all have a dozen nicknames. Dad even gets our names mixed up and calls me Bella. Hello - I'm red not brindle.
Sweet Pea
Lovely video, well done! And where did you get that song from?
