Vacation Flashback continued

Dad, that's my blankie

The moment I've been waiting for..............Folly Beach, South Carolina

Well, we didn't see any dolphins but we found lots of pretty seashells and the sand was so very soft between our toes.  We left our foot prints all along the beach.  The bestest part ever is we had the whole entire beach to ourselves.  Absolutely no one in sight anywhere.  Mom and Dad we in heaven.  The waves were gentle and the clouds were as puffy as marshmallows (one of our favorite treats, mmmm).

After our stroll along the beach we took a walk through a really nice local park with a dog park and swimming pond.  We didn't use the dog park too many people.  We walked the paved trails.  You won't believe what kind of weird sign we come upon.

Don't worry we didn't see any and Mom and  Dad wouldn't allow us anywhere near the water.  We were perfectly safe.

On to more beaches.  Isle of Palms, South Carolina.

This stop wasn't planned but it was close enough and we hadn't gotten enough of the ocean breeze, sand between our toes and magnificent smell.  My nose has never sniffed such things and my ears..the ocean breeze kept them stuck out there like airplane wings.

All this ocean air and walking sure did work up an appetite so Mom and Dad took us to this cute little dog bakery in Charlotte, South Carolina.  We each got lots of  yummies and some new toys called Egg Babbies.  Bella got a turtle and  mine was a Dinosaur.  I really don't know what all the fuss is about.  Bella just loves pulling those silly squeaky eggs out so Mom can stuff them back in.  It's way too much work if you ask me.

On the road again.  We are headed back to Tennessee.  We found a cute little park with a paved walking trail and at night they light it all up for Holidays.

Can you see the eagle catching the fish?  This is Mom and Dad's favorite because it's animated.  The eagle starts on the right side and swoops down, catches the fish and flies off to the left.  We don't have fancy Christmas light displays like this back home.

We had a fun filled two weeks.  All the excitement and adventure the little one just couldn't keep her eyes open.

Hey, why did I get the broken bed?

This is the hotel where Bella gave Mom a heart attack.  It was late and dark.  We always go in first with Mom and she holds our leashes and lets us sniff around while Dad unpacks the EmmaMobile.  Bell jumped up on this bed and it clunked and she shot off that bed like a rocket just as Dad opened the door.  Dad blocked her and I'm sure had some very stern words for Mom.  In a flash Mom had the most horrible thoughts of Bella lost and alone in the dark near a busy highway.  The number of horror filled thoughts and images that can quickly pass through ones brain is totally amazing.  Mom and Bella slept in the not scary bed.  I honestly don't know what the big fuss was about.  As you can see I slept perfectly well.  Out of all our travels I do have to say this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.  The only compliment it gets is it was dog friendly.  The first room they gave us smelled like a mechanics garage and the tile floor area was like walking on an oil slick, very slippery.  We requested a different room and it had the same problem but the odor wasn't as bad.  Mom and Dad had to use all the rooms towels to cover the tile floor area because they didn't know that was on the floor and they didn't want us to get it on our feet and then lick them.  We would have just kept searching but it was very late and Mom and Dad were very tired.

Another dog bakery.  This one is in Lexington, KY Bluegrass Barkery

And another dog bakery

Which one do I want?  So many yummie choices why can't I have 2 of each?

Then we stayed at one last hotel before returning home.  This hotel is Mom's favorite.  For being dog friendly they are very luxurious.  Can you believe they even have comfort level pillows so if you aren't happy with your pillows fluffiness you can request others.

I really like this hotel too.  The bed is so soft like those marshmallow clouds from the ocean.  The only thing is I require Dad's assistance to get up on the bed.  I have no idea why it's so high.  The room is so full with furniture and this King size bed there isn't enough room for me to get a running jump.  It's the tallest bed I've ever seen.  Bella hops up and down like it's no big deal.

Another dog bakery.

This concludes our 2009 vacation flashback.  I sure did enjoy my stroll down memory lane and now I'm even more excited about our upcoming vacation for 2011.  I sure hope two weeks goes by much slower then it did then or even last year.  We have so much fun it seems like it's over just when it's beginning.
