Here I am at the beginning of our walk checking out all the smells
Mom keeps telling me if I fall into the swampy yuck she's not coming in after me. I know she's just bluffing. She'd jump in quicker than you could say EMMA!
After a very long walk (by my new senior standards ;) ) to a nice spot by the lake I rested in the shade and enjoyed the cool breeze blowing through my fur.
This year Mom has noticed I'm starting to display signs of aging. I've tried really hard to hide them and assure her I'm just fine, but she's a little worried. I can't walk as far as the others anymore and by the end of our walk I'm moving much slower than everyone else. That's ok I just like to take in all the sniffs and sights ;) The vet said the way I hold my hind end shows I'm having pain in that area and they say it's arthritis. I'm now taking Rimadyl once a day. Although someone just suggested we try Metacam. Mom did some reading and it's a liquid and she's thinking I might tolerate taking it better. I find the pills she tries to hide in my food and the humans think that might be part of the reason I'm not wanting to eat. Have any of you tried Metacam?
Ok, enough of that kinda sad stuff lets get on with the beautiful pictures from our walk today. I had a great time with Mom. Last night and today it was just the two of us walking side by side taking in all the sights and sounds of nature.
Mom did remember the memory stick today, but we discovered the battery was very low so we didn't get too many pictures until we got to the little spot by the lake. Then I'm pretty sure Mom took something like 5,000 pictures of me in the same pose. Geesh!
After our walk I went home to the A/C and took a nap.

Nice morning walk. Have a great Monday.

Our mom worries about aging all the time too. We try to remind her to take it one day at a time, buts its pretty impossible for her. We think you look amazing for a large breed girly to do as much as you at 14 is terrific. You are an inspiration

What a beautiful day to go to the lake Emma! Glad it didn't get too hot too fast for ya. I asked Mom about the Metacam. She says she doesn't know anything about it. She had good luck with a liquid glucosamine/conondrite called Level 5000 for my Angel Sister Lucy.

Miss Emma,
ReplyDeleteI take the metacam and I don't even notice. Momma just squirts it on my breakfast and down it goes. It helps me a great deal with my owie bottom.
Slobbers,
